Not even Jimmy O’Brien himself probably ever imagined becoming such a force in the baseball media space. Since co-launching the “Talkin’ Yanks” podcast in 2017, it’s been nothing but wins for the founder of Jomboy Media.
Known better as Jomboy, O’Brien has expanded his talents across the multimedia sphere over the years. But one of his own creations recently came back to haunt him, in the form of a shocking torn Achilles injury.
Young Mets fan goes viral after tearfully asking to switch to the Yankees: ‘I don’t want to be the worst’
This week, Jomboy shared video footage of the exact moment he tore his Achilles while playing in a “Ball in Play Concrete Cricket” match. The commentators initially thought he had just twisted his ankle, but it was much worse than initially imagined.
O’Brien had to be wheeled away in the only asset on hand, an office chair. The image of Jomboy getting carried away on a desk chair particularly humored some fans.
O’Brien confirmed he suffered a complete repair, which required surgery. He underwent the surgery back in April.
