The 2027 NASCAR Cup Series silly season took a massive turn on Tuesday morning. It was announced that Brad Keselowski and RFK Racing, a team the driver co-owns, will part ways at the conclusion of the 2026 season. The future for both Keselowski and RFK Racing are unclear at this point.

Keselowski, the 2012 Cup Series champion and 36-time Cup Series winner, is in his 17th full-time season. At the twilight of his career, the 42-year-old’s NASCAR career is at an intriguing crossroads.

In the wake of the shocking news, here is a look at Keselowski’s greatest NASCAR career highlights.

2012 NASCAR Cup Series championship

Piloting the No. 2 Team Penske Dodge, Brad Keselowski stepped into the NASCAR history books in 2012. In just his third full-time Cup Series season, Keselowski won five races and captured the 2012 Cup Series championship at season’s end.

Keselowski outdueled Jimmie Johnson, who was gunning for a sixth championship, and Clint Bowyer, who was seeking his first title, to deliver Team Penske its first Cup Series championship.

It was the final season in NASCAR to date for Dodge as Penske was the only full-time Cup team fielding the manufacturer at the time.

First career NASCAR Cup Series win

Keselowski became a winner in the NASCAR Cup Series before he was even a full-time driver. In the 2009 Aaron’s 499 at Talladega, Keselowski fielded the No. 09 Chevrolet for Phoenix Racing on a part-time basis.

The Michigan native found himself running second behind Carl Edwards coming to the checkered flag. As Keselowski looked underneath Edwards’ No. 99 through the tri-oval coming to the checkered flag, contact was made.

The contact spun Edwards around, ultimately sending him flying into the catchfence. Keselowski snuck by on the inside and made it to the checkered flag to win his first Cup Series race.

Thankfully, Edwards was uninjured despite the violent crash.

2018 Southern 500, Brickyard 400 wins

Entering the 2018 Cup Series season, Keselowski had never won a crown jewel race.

By the end of the campaign, “Bad Brad” had two crown jewel victories to his name.

In the 2018 Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway, despite Kyle Larson leading a race-high 284 of 367 laps, Keselowski found his way to the front with 22 circuits remaining. Keselowski took the checkered flag for his first crown jewel win and first Darlington win for Team Penske since 1975.

One week later, Keselowski earned another crown jewel win by taking first place in the Brickyard 400.

With a late-race pass on Denny Hamlin, Keselowski made that happen as he was the first to the checkered flag in the 2018 Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It was Keselowski’s first Brickyard 400 win and first for Team Penske.

2020 Coca-Cola 600 win

Keselowski added the third of four crown jewel wins to his portfolio in 2020. At the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Memorial Day weekend, Keselowski took the checkered flag in the Coca-Cola 600.

Keselowski elected to stay out for a restart with just two laps remaining. As leader Chase Elliott elected to pit, Keselowski inherited the lead and held off the field on the subsequent restart to win NASCAR’s longest race.

It was Keselowski’s first win in the 600-mile race and his second Cup Series win at Charlotte.

First win as a team owner at Darlington 2024

In his third season driving for his co-owned RFK Racing team, Keselowski finally found his way to victory lane.

In the 2024 Goodyear 400 at the Darlington Raceway, Keselowski navigated his way past Tyler Reddick and RFK Racing teammate Chris Buescher to prevail at “The Track Too Tough to Tame.”

It was Keselowski’s 36th career win and first victory in 110 races, last coming at Talladega in 2021. The Goodyear 400 is currently Keselowski’s last win to date.
