TIMMINS – Get ready for an out-of-this-world experience.
On Thursday (Oct. 1), Science Timmins, in collaboration with the Canadian Space Agency, is hosting a public event to watch the launch of Crew-13, which features Canadian astronaut Joshua Kutryk.
It’s happening at 10:30 a.m. at Science Timmins, 225 Fifth Ave.
“It will bring together members of the public, with a special focus on inspiring youth and encouraging the next generation to explore careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM),” reads a news release.
“Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about space exploration, Canada’s contributions to space missions and the important role Canadian astronauts play in advancing scientific discovery.”
Crew-13 is heading to the International Space Station. It’s Kutryk’s first space flight, and will see him and four other crew members live and work aboard the ISS for about six months.
Everyone is welcome to attend the launch watch party.
