The Conservative Party of BC proclaims “strong candidates for serious times” in the 10 Surrey-area ridings.

A full list of names was revealed Tuesday (Sept. 29), weeks before the Oct. 24 snap election called by Premier David Eby, NDP leader.

Under the Conservative banner, candidates are said to be on “a unified team with decades of experience in business, education and public service,” following a tumultuous time for the party.

Looking for votes in Surrey ridings are these BC Conservative candidates:

Jessy Sahota, Surrey-Serpentine River

Gurpreet Gary Thind, Surrey-Guildford

Nicholas Cartmell, Surrey-Cloverdale

Harj Dhaliwal, Surrey-Newton

Garry Purewal, Surrey-Fleetwood

Meagan Knight, Surrey South

Trevor Halford, Surrey-White Rock (incumbent)

Bryan Tepper, Surrey-Panorama (incumbent)

Zeeshan Wahla, Surrey City Centre

Mandeep Dhaliwal, Surrey North (incumbent)

Conservatives promise “to make life affordable again, restore safety to Surrey’s streets, fix healthcare and give Surrey the strong leadership it deserves,” say party officials, promising unity behind leader Lorne Doerkson.

Under Eby, “Surrey is living through an unprecedented cost of living crisis. Families are stretched by the price of groceries, housing and gas. Emergency rooms are overwhelmed. Young people who grew up in Surrey cannot afford to stay. Small business owners are struggling under rising costs and a wave of extortion and violence that has left many afraid to open their doors.”
