The Saskatchewan Roughriders have brought back a familiar face.
On Wednesday, the day of the CFL’s trade deadline, the Roughriders acquired veteran kicker Brett Lauther from the Ottawa Redblacks in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2027 CFL Draft.
In 12 games this season with Ottawa, the 35-year-old has made 32 of 35 field goals (94.1 per cent) for the Redblacks after signing with the team following his release from the Roughriders in February after a statistically down year.
