We will also live blog the co-main event between Lawrence Okolie vs. Kevin Lerena below.

Walkouts: Lerena is out in a white robe with pink/magenta trim, sporting white gloves. He’s looking very comfortable has makes his way to the ring.

Okolie out in a sparkling black robe short-sleeve robe with gold trim and black gloves. He looks locked in as he walks to the ring. Almost time to do the thing.

Round 1: Okolie out in orthodox, Lerena in southpaw. Okolie with the snapping jab early, setting a long range. Lerena trying to down parry and get in. But Okolie working the distance well to start. Some nice body work from Okolie as Lerena covered up for the jab. He’s a bit awkward but he’s a big, powerful fella.

Lerena not doing much here, just working himself into the fight. Okolie keeps peppering him with jabs and the right hand. Lerena blocking but Okolie is so big. Okolie got out of the gates quite well.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Okolie.

Round 2: Okolie right back out with that jab. Lerena grabbing clinches a bit more. Okolie trying to bully in here. Lerena lands a good left thatn gets Okolie to grab. First real punch of the evening from Lerena. Nice high-low from Okolie. Then a stepping uppercut that misses. Lerena staying very composed in there though his offense is still not much.

Okolie working the body well now. And really mixing in those uppercuts against the smaller fighter. Nothing huge has landed, but he’s freezing Lerena. Brief exchange but then Okolie puts Lerena against the ring and snaps a combo into the body.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Okolie, 20-18 Okolie overall.

Round 3: Lerena’s corner wants him to do better. Let’s see if it happens. Okolie right back to the long jab to start. He’s fighting well both at range and inside. Another body rip. Those are gonna add up. Lerena is not bringing much offense, allowing Okolie to pick him off at range.

Lerena coming forward some but he still has no real answer to the jab from Okolie, and the body shots are becoming just as big of a problem. Very disciplined performance from Okolie so far.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Okolie, 30-27 Okolie overall.

Round 4: Lerena finally showing some life to start this round. Comes out hot with pressure and some body shots of his own. In response, Okolie doubles down on his weapons, sticking that jab in his face and following it with the right hand. Laying the right hand in this round. Lerena blocking but still, that’s a big man.

Okolie fighting quite well, mixing his offense up. Lerena gets mad and digs in for some in-fighting. But then he doesn’t commit. It’s all stilted offense. We were hoping for more, honestly.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Okolie, 40-36 Okolie overall.

Round 5: This fight is getting to be a bit of a slog. Lerena doing the same stuff, and so is Okolie. But of course Okolie is, he’s winning with ease! Lerena has completely run out of ideas. And Okolie keeps chopping away with the punches at range and the body work.

Salty combo from Okolie. If Lerena isn’t working a rope-a-dope game plan, he’s just having an awful night. So little output as Okolie keeps chopping wood.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Okolie, 50-45 Okolie overall.

Round 6: Nothing new to report. Okolie keeps pumping the jab, Lerena keeps not having any ideas to get past it. Periodically, Okolie fires a right hand to the body. Lerena eats it and hangs around. He’s frozen with his inability to get offense off against Okolie. Or he’s waiting for some unknown reason as he is getting banged up.

Honestly, this looks like a sparring match between a guy and a partner who isn’t supposed to fight back too hard. It’s not great viewing. Heavyweight matches that go the distance are often disappointing. This one is heading in that direction.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Okolie, 60-54 Okolie overall.

Round 7: We took a brief break to talk to Jake Paul, because he’s ringside and this is the state of boxing.

Okolie comes out with a little more fire this round. That’s nice. He still looks fresh and with only 4 rounds left, he can open up. Okolie looking confident in there, snapping that right hand on Lerena.

Lerena pressing in but when they get close, Okolie can use his physicality to control the inside. He keeps going to work as Lerena starts to let his hands go a bit.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Okolie, 70-63 Okolie overall.

Round 8: Lerena firmly in the “needs a stoppage to win” camp, but don’t see how that’s happening at this rate. Okolie is relentless with his jab and right hand. Lerena coming in though. He may actually start trying now. Okolie being very cautious now, knowing how far ahead he must be.

Okolie against rips the body as he moves away. Lerena with plenty of pressure but not a lot of real offense. Okolie keeps plugging away with the jab and then the body shots.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Okolie, 80-72 Okolie overall.

Round 9: Will something different happen this round? Unlikely. After all, we’re 24 minutes down and the guy who is clearly losing has made no effort to change tactics. And given that he’s barely punched Okolie, that’s questionable.

Again, Lerena comes forward but without effect. Okolie, on the other hand, pops him with a bunch and clinches. Lather, rinse, repeat. Okolie keep laying into the body but Lerena is very durable. He’s not going to go out easy. So Okolie just works away, methodically.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Okolie, 90-81 Okolie overall.

Round 10: They say the definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results. By that definition, Lerena belongs in a straight-jacket. Though, to be fair, he’s basically already in one. That would explain why he doesn’t punch all that often: he’s arms are tied up.

Actually, I lied. Lerena is doing something different this round: he’s doin even less. Lerena showing zero urgency. He’s comfortable with the loss that’s coming. And Okolie is putting some good stuff down, but I’d have liked to see him try and finish the fight. Alass, twas not to be.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Okolie, 100- 90 Okolie overall.
