Halloween vibes are already happening at Bear Creek Park Train in Surrey.

A kid-friendly Pumpkin Train rolls during daytime hours from Oct. 1-31, with more frightening nighttime rides starting Oct. 16.

October is a busy month at 13750 88 Ave., where kids under age two ride free. For everyone else, the fee is $12 for a daytime train ride through decorated forest, a treat, pumpkin and crafts.

Tickets are $18 each for the nighttime “Scream” train, to roll from 6 to 10 p.m. with riders age 12 and up. “Chainsaw Charlie” and other characters are part of the fun. “We welcome all ages at your own discretion,” says the website bctrains.com, where tickets can be purchased (no online tickets available for the day train, just show up).

The Pumpkin train will be closed to the public Sunday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a Canucks Autism Network event.

Jassy Kaur runs Bear Creek Train & Mini-Golf as a privately-owned business, located at Bear Creek Park for many years.

Elsewhere in Surrey, Cougar Creek’s House of Horrors opens Oct. 2 at 12530 72 Ave., Newton.
