M’CHIGEENG—Despite having a young team this season, the Manitoulin Secondary School (MSS) Mustangs boys’ golf team secured a third-place finish at the North Shore Secondary School Association golf championship and have advanced to the Northern Ontario championship.
“The MSS golf team travelled to Blind River this week to compete at the NSSSA golf championship at Huron Pines Golf and Country Club,” said Jordan Smith, one of the coaches of the team. “It proved to be a challenging day on the course for most of our athletes with most posting higher scores than from the previous week. We sent 11 boys to the championship with only four of them being returning golfers from MSS from last year.”
Mr. Smith noted, “we have a very promising group of Grade 9 boys starting their golfing careers here at MSS with the hope that they will continue to work on their game and make improvements in the years to come.”
