A moment-by-moment look at the Canadian Football League contest on Saturday evening in Calgary

Outside of the Smoke Game the last time these two teams played, the Roughriders have had good luck with the weather, and that continues today. It’s expected to be sunny and 23 C at kickoff, with the win from the south east at 20 km/h. No rain, no smoke in the forecast, so a great night for football!

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are the hottest team in the Canadian Football League, and they’re taking their show on the road on Saturday evening as they take on the Calgary Stampeders at McMahon Stadium!
The Roughriders have a 8-1 record to sit atop the West Division and the entire CFL, while the Stampeders are 6-3 and are in second place in the West.Â
A major topic for Saskatchewan heading into the game has been revenge, as their only loss this season came at the hands of Calgary back in Week 6. That 24-10 defeat saw the Stampeders get off to an utterly dominant start before a second-half rally saw the Riders nearly pull off a comeback.
The Roughriders are coming off a 29-9 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and haven’t allowed a touchdown in their last two games. Calgary is coming off a bye week and defeated the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 28-27 back in Week 10.
The Riders Broadcast Network pregame show with Teagan Witko, Justin Dunk and Wes Cates is currently on the air, Dave Thomas and Luc Mullinder will have the game call at 5 p.m.
Saskatchewan’s depth chart: Only a couple changes as former U of S Huskies linebacker Nick Wiebe is out with a knee injury and Canadian fullback Morgan Runge is in.
Trevor Harris gets the start at pivot and continues to have a career-defining season, completing 182 of 241 passes for 2,490 yards, 16 touchdowns and only five interceptions. His 121.6 quarterback efficiency is tops in the CFL.Â
A.J. Ouellette starts at running back and has 125 carries for 648 yards, third best in the CFL.
KeeSean Johnson and Dohnte Meyers give Saskatchewan a dangerous one-two at receiver, with Johnson having 51 catches for 682 yards and three touchdowns, Meyers 38 catches for 641 yards and five touchdowns.
Jameer Thurman leads the team with 48 tackles, with fellow linebacker just behind with 46 tackles. Defensive linemen Shane Ray and Micah Johnson lead the team with five sacks each; defensive backs Rolan Milligan Jr. and Tevaughn Campbell have three interceptions each.
Calgary’s depth chart: The Stampeders offence lives and dies on the arm and legs of quarterback Vernon Adams Jr., arguably the best dual threat pivot in the league. Adams had completed 142 of 212 passes for 2,213 yards, 11 touchdowns and six interceptions while also rushing 18 times for 139 yards.
Dominique Rhymes has been V.A.’s favourite target with 30 catches for 543 yards, while Jalen Philpot has 29 catches for 449 yards.Â
Dedrick Mills is having an impressive season as Calgary’s top rusher, sitting second in the CFL with 129 carries for 660 yards.
Linebacker Jacob Roberts leads the defence with 59 tackles, defensive lineman Jaylon Hutchings tops the team with six sacks. Defensive back Adrian Greene leads with four interceptions.
