Two interceptions from Nick Arbuckle were the difference as the BC Lions stole one on the road.

The BC Lions leaned on balance and a takeaway-heavy defense to beat the Toronto Argonauts 24-17 at BMO Field. BC improves to 9-6 and stays in the thick of the West race, while Toronto drops to 9-7 and now has to fight for playoff positioning down the stretch. Nathan Rourke didn’t throw a touchdown, but he didn’t need to — his defense made sure of that.

Quick Hits

BC didn’t score a single touchdown and still won by a touchdown — four field goals and a defense that forced two picks got the job done.

Arbuckle piled up 292 yards and two scores through the air but the two interceptions, from TJ Lee and Deontai Williams, killed Toronto’s momentum at the worst times.

David Ungerer III went off with 12 catches for 124 yards and a touchdown, but one monster receiver day wasn’t enough to offset the turnovers.
