Toronto Argonauts result story illustration of a football and players on a field

The Toronto Argonauts result came down to the goal line on Saturday: BC held firm in the final seconds to win 24–17 at BMO Field, despite scoring no touchdowns.

Sean Whyte supplied every Lions point with eight field goals, a club record, according to the CFL’s October 3 recap. Four came before halftime, when BC led 12–10, and four followed after the break.

Toronto Argonauts result turns on late stop

The Lions’ game report credits Shaun Peterson Jr. with the decisive goal-line stand, which came with 11 seconds remaining. Darnell Sankey had tackled Nick Arbuckle on the preceding play, leaving Toronto facing third down.

BC had already frustrated an earlier Toronto threat with an interception by T.J. Lee. Those late defensive plays protected a seven-point advantage and kept the Argonauts from drawing level.

Arbuckle, starting in place of the injured Chad Kelly, completed 27 of 33 passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns, with two interceptions. Nathan Rourke finished 15 of 32 for 254 yards without a touchdown pass or an interception.

Whyte makes the difference

BC’s offence repeatedly depended on its kicker to finish drives. The Lions’ account says four of Whyte’s kicks followed unsuccessful red-zone possessions, while Toronto managed only 57 rushing yards.

The Toronto Argonauts result leaves them at 9–7. Toronto now heads into a Week 19 bye before facing Ottawa in Week 20, according to the CFL recap.
