Atlanta is undecided as to who it is going to start in this outing. Chris Sale, Tyler Mahle, and Grant Holmes all played in the Wild Card round. Unfortunately, Atlanta will also be without Bryce Elder and Martin Perez, as confirmed by Walt Weiss. Because of the injuries in the starting rotation, Atlanta utlitized relief pitching of Dylan Dodd in Game 1 before AJ Smith-Shawver took 2.2 innings in the middle of the game. They will likely open the game with a reliever and get one of the top three starters in early.
Blake Snell will likely take the mound for the Dodgers. The left-hander finished the regular season with a 4-1 record, along with a 1.90 ERA and 1.10 WHIP. Snell recorded 55 strikeouts, allowing 31 hits across 42.2 innings. In his most recent outing, he faced the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park and worked four innings. During that appearance, he surrendered one earned run on five hits and zero walks, while striking out three batters in a 4-3 win.
