The UFC
332
main event crowned a new queen in the
Ultimate Fighting Championship
flyweight division.

Headlining what will go down as the card that set the record for
first-round knockouts in the modern UFC era, Natalia
Silva
emerged victorious in her clash with Cong Wang.
With a more effective striking game and solid grappling, Silva
(21-5-1, 9-0 UFC) outpointed Wang (10-2, 5-2 UFC) on all three
scorecards, weathering the storm of Wang’s late resurgence.

UFC 332 sends Natalia Silva to the throne and Payton Talbott
into the Top 10

In victory, Silva captured the women’s flyweight championship
vacated by Valentina
Shevchenko
because of injury. The Brazilian solidifies her spot
at No. 2 in the division as she awaits a potential clash with
Shevchenko. Wang stays at No. 14 as she works to get back on track,
climb the rankings and earn another title shot.

The UFC 332 co-main event featured the other fight relevant to
Sherdog’s rankings, as former two-time UFC flyweight champion
Deiveson
Figueiredo
collided with Dana White’s Contender Series graduate
Payton
Talbott
. It took Talbott a little more than two minutes to stop
his opponent, as he landed a decisive combination of punches that
halted the contest at the 2:09 mark of Round 1. Talbott, who has
long been on the fringe of the Top 15, confidently joins the Top 10
at No. 10 after his decisive victory. Figueiredo, a pale shadow of
his former self, drops to No. 15.

In other news, Vinicius
Oliveira
leaves the bantamweight rankings, as his future
appears to be in the 145-pound division. Note: Previous rankings
listed in brackets.
