IAN DE HOOG, NewSurrey+
An artist, instructor, software developer and Surrey resident running for council to help build stronger, safer and more connected neighbourhoods.
TOP 3 PRIORITIES
• Make neighbourhoods safer, cleaner and more connected
• Responsible growth that keeps infrastructure and services sustainable
• Create vibrant public spaces and support local arts and culture
EXPAND ON ONE PRIORITY
Make neighbourhoods safer, cleaner and more connected: I would focus on practical improvements residents experience every day: better-maintained streets and public spaces, traffic calming where it is needed, safer routes to schools, and stronger connections for walking, cycling and transit. I would listen to residents about local priorities, use evidence to guide decisions, and ensure neighbourhood improvements keep pace with growth rather than leaving residents to catch up.
WHY SHOULD PEOPLE VOTE FOR YOU?
I listen, seek to understand the issues, and act thoughtfully. I’ll bring practical, evidence-based decision-making and a strong focus on Surrey’s neighbourhoods.
