The former MVP was a late scratch in right field and was moved to designated hitter instead ahead of Game 3. Acuña went 0-for-3 with one walk in Atlanta’s 3-1 loss.
The 28-year-old played 107 games this season and went on the injured list twice with left hamstring strains.
Acuña still finished with 20 home runs, 21 stolen bases and a .796 OPS while boasting one of the best outfield arms in baseball.
After achieving the first-ever 40-home-run, 70-stolen-base season in 2023 and winning the National League MVP, Acuña missed most of the next two seasons with a torn left ACL and has failed to recapture the same level of performance since.
