SURREY Mayor Brenda Locke appears to have a solid lead over her rivals in the October 17 municipal election.
A Leger poll commissioned by Postmedia News shows Locke has 24 per cent support, while former mayor Doug McCallum of Safe Surrey Coalition has only half that support at 12 per cent.
Mike Starchuck (Imagine Surrey) and Linda Annis (Surrey First) are each at seven per cent support.
Honveer Singh Randhawa (Conservative Electors Association) nets just six per cent support.
However, 34 per cent of voters are undecided.
Just how many of both decided and undecided voters finally cast their ballots remains to be seen.
It is interesting to note that 64 per cent of Surrey residents signaled that they want a change at City Council. We will have to wait and see how that pans out.
In the end, it may all boil down to how successfully the candidates manage to get their supporters to get out and vote in the municipal election.
