Richards Landing ER closing for one day due to physician shortage

There will be a closure of the emergency department in Richards Landing this week due to physician shortages.

The North Shore Health Network says the emergency room will shut down at 8 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9. It’s not scheduled to reopen until 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10.

Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should still call 9-1-1. Ambulances will be re-routed.

The closest emergency departments to the Richards Landing Site are:

Thessalon Site – North Shore Health Network – 135 Dawson St., Thessalon
Sault Area Hospital – 750 Great Northern Rd., Sault Ste. Marie
