Status report
Melanson, who was injured in a season-opening 6-1 win at the Calgary Flames, has been diagnosed with an anterior mediastinum hematoma with vascular pseudo aneurysm; the Kraken said he will be “monitored closely by the medical staff in Seattle through the healing process for a gradual progression to return to hockey.” … Dubois did not practice Saturday because of an illness. … Roy skated on his own Saturday; the defenseman is expected to miss his third straight game.
