Mr Burns said: “Maxim Park has been the perfect location for Mighty Ricks because of its proximity to the M8.
“My ambition has been to bring people together through fitness and improved wellbeing.
“This expansion allows me to run additional classes and offer more options to our members for their own fitness journeys, with every single piece of equipment being something that I would personally use myself.
“The feedback from members so far has been incredible.
“I love being part of the Maxim Park community.
“I’m a local boy and proud of it so when I opened Mighty Rick’s it had to be in Lanarkshire.
“The management team at Maxim Park is very supportive and I’m planning for Mighty Rick’s long-term future here.”
The gym is one of several health and fitness facilities at Maxim Park, which also boasts bike hire, yoga classes, and a putting green among its amenities.
Rosaleen Affleck, sustainability and community coordinator at Maxim Park, said: “We are delighted that Ricky has chosen to expand here at Maxim Park and very much look forward to watching Mighty Ricks continuing to make a positive impact in the community as it goes from strength to strength.
“As a member myself, I see the passion that Ricky has to support others and the love he has for coaching.
“His care and determination to make everyone welcome at Mighty Rick’s, regardless of fitness levels, is clear to see and the expansion is testament to the hard work he and his team put in.”
