Running back Peter Boersch handled the football on all of the Regina Thunder’s first five offensive plays.
Number 26, Number 26 … 12 of the first 15 plays; 16 of the first 20 went to Boersch. Primarily runs up the middle highlighted by quick pivots and an uncanny change of speed.
When it was all over and the Thunder had defeated the visiting Calgary Colts 40-10 in their Prairie Football Conference semifinal Sunday at Leibel Field, Boersch had carried 37 times for 337 yards — more than three entire football fields, even after the official scorekeeper took three yards from his initial total — and scored one touchdown, plus he caught a 13-yard pass.
