Thursday, Oct. 15 is the night for a Provincial Candidates Forum hosted by Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade, Cloverdale District Chamber of Commerce and White Rock Business Improvement Association, with MLA candidates from 10 Surrey ridings.
At Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel, the event is held ahead of the Oct. 24 B.C. election, not to be confused with the civic election of Oct. 17.
The forum welcomes members of the business community, residents and other community stakeholders, but only candidates from CentreBC, Conservative, Green, NDP and OneBC parties are invited on Oct. 15, 5:30 p.m. start.
Voters can register to attend on businessinsurrey.chambermaster.com.
The discussion will explore “key issues including economic growth and competitiveness, housing, transportation and infrastructure, public safety, healthcare, workforce and skills development, and the cost of doing business,” event organizers say.
“This non-partisan candidates forum will bring together candidates from B.C.’s five parties seeking to represent our communities in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, across all 10 ridings (in Surrey/White Rock),” notes a post on swrbot.com.
Questions for candidates had to be emailed by Oct. 5 for consideration.
SWRBOT election forums are streamed on the board of trade’s YouTube channel.
Advance voting in the B.C. election starts Friday, Oct. 16 and runs six days, until Oct. 21. For details heck elections.bc.ca/2026-provincial-election/where-to-vote.
