‘Lex’ is a new comedy series by the same director as the upcoming ‘Space Balls: The New One.’

A new comedy series with a deadly premise is filming in Vancouver.

On Thursday morning (Oct. 15) at around 9 a.m., a film crew was assembled at the intersection of W 4th Avenue and Manitoba Street in Mount Pleasant.

Several cars appeared to be involved in the shoot, which were lined up along W 4th in both directions. Police were blocking off public vehicle traffic from entering the area.

A staff member on set said the shoot was for a pilot, which Vancouver Is Awesome has confirmed is for a new series called Lex.

According to Creative BC, Lex is directed by Josh Greenbaum, who is also behind 2026 film The Dink, as well as the upcoming Space Balls: The New One, a long-removed sequel from the 1987 classic Space Balls.

Lex stars Jenny Slate (Zootopia 2, The Great North, Big Mouth, Dying for Sex, SNL) and Dylan O’Brien (Send Help, Teen Wolf, The Maze Runner).

According to IMDB, the new series “Follows a disgraced reality star who accidentally films a murder in a Cameo video and becomes the target of powerful forces while trying to expose the truth and get back on TV.”

The show is produced by 20th Television, and its local production company is Stage 49 Ltd.

There is no release date yet for Lex.
