It’s breeding season for deer and moose in Saskatchewan, which means an increasing number are on the move near highways and rural roads.

SGI and the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation (SWF) are reminding motorists to be vigilant at this time of year, offering advice through their annual Give Wildlife a Brake campaign.

According to SGI, there were 8,598 wildlife-related collisions in Saskatchewan last year, including 8,261 property-damage-only incidents, 335 that caused injuries and two fatal accidents. These collisions resulted in a total of 412 injuries.
