In a concerning series of events, Peel Regional Police have arrested Shane Jason Elliot, a 45-year-old resident of Brampton, in connection with almost 20 alleged break-and-enter incidents across the city. Over the past two months, downtown Brampton and the area around Queen Street East and Kennedy Road have been particularly affected. Local businesses, including restaurants and retail stores, were targeted during overnight hours, with entry gained through the forceful smashing of front glass doors or windows using rocks or bricks.
Elliot now faces 17 charges, including 13 counts of breaking, entering, and committing an indictable offence, alongside four counts of break-and-enter with intent to commit an indictable offence. Litigation lawyers can provide guidance for affected business owners seeking justice and compensation.
