Polls in the 2026 civic elections in communities across British Columbia closed at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026.
With the closure of all voting, the ballots are now in the process of being counted by the municipal governments.
This article will be regularly updated this evening with the projected mayoral winners for the municipal governments within Metro Vancouver.
New mayors are guaranteed to be elected in Coquitlam and Richmond, as longtime mayors of those jurisdictions decided not to seek re-election. Moreover, White Rock mayor Megan Knight withdrew her re-election bid in late September 2026, as she is instead running with the Conservative Party of B.C. for the MLA seat of Surrey South in the provincial general election on Saturday, Oct. 24.
Watch this space as the preliminary numbers roll in tonight from the cities.
