Edmonton police say six people have been charged in connection to a national online drug trafficking ring.

EPS says between March 2024 and January 2025, they investigated an online organization that was operating under the brand “BlueBuddhaCo”.

Investigators learned that the organization was working on a national scale, allegedly shipping around 8,700 packages of drugs across the country while also allegedly laundering proceeds through banking systems and cryptocurrency platforms.

EPS says that “the organization was advertised as an online illicit drug delivery service, promoting fast and secure nationwide shipping for a wide selection of controlled substances, including cocaine, MDMA, LSD, GHB and methamphetamine.”

Due to this, an extensive investigation took place with police across the country, and resulted in search warrants being executed in January 2025 and multiple storage and distribution locations in the city, including central Edmonton and the Hollick-Kenyon and Schonsee neighbourhoods.

During the searches, police were reportedly able to find and seize controlled substances, drug-processing and packaging equipment, digital scales and shipping supplies. Noting that the estimated value of drugs was around $224,000 and that the organization received around $1.98 million through e-transfer deposits.

In February 2026, six people — 33-year-old Melvin Young, 66-yera-old Dung Nguyen, 43-year-old Gary Then, 35-year-old Mila Then, 33-year-old Kevin Leung-Wan, and 32-year-old Kelly Wong — were all charged with a total of 139 criminal offences including organized crime, trafficking, money laundering and proceeds of crime

“This investigation exposed a well-organized criminal enterprise that distributed controlled substances across Canada while attempting to conceal millions of dollars in criminal proceeds,” says Staff Sergeant Jennifer McCann with the EPS’ Drug and Gang Enforcement Unit. “The complexity of this operation demanded a sustained, intelligence-led investigation involving extensive financial analysis, digital evidence and interagency collaboration.”
