Cirque du Soleil will pitch a new tent next spring in the Old Port, the Montreal-based circus troupe announced Tuesday, promising a “surrealist” show centred on an imagined farmer’s field.
The show’s tent will replicate an outdoor scene, director and writer Michel Laprise told reporters, with artificial wind blowing through fans and a sky pictured in the background.
“What you’ll have in front of you will be 800 blades of wheat,” he said. “You’ll step into (the tent) to find yourself outside.”
