QUEBEC — The results of the Alberta referendum Monday are proof Canada is a straitjacket and does not work, Quebec premier-designate Paul St-Pierre Plamondon said Tuesday.
In a long message posted on social media a day before he is to name his first cabinet, the Parti Québécois leader zeroed in on the responses to some of the questions Albertans were asked Monday.
Most of the headlines were about the fact three-quarters of Albertans voted to stay in Canada, but the results for the rest of the questions bode poorly for the future of the federation, he said.
