The Canadiens blew a two-goal lead for the fourth time in nine games this season when they lost 4-3 in overtime to the San Jose Sharks Tuesday night at the Bell Centre.

Are the Canadiens just playing dumb hockey after notching only one regulation-time win this season — in the first game, beating the Maple Leafs 3-2 in Toronto — while posting a 4-3-2 record?

That’s the main question answered on this week’s Hockey Inside/Out Show, as former Canadiens teammates and 1986 Stanley Cup champions Chris Nilan and Brian Skrudland join The Gazette’s Stu Cowan.

The panel weighs in on costly penalties taken Tuesday night by defenceman Arber Xhekaj and goalie Jakub Dobes and whether head coach Martin St. Louis made a bad decision by starting Dobes in goal against the Sharks instead of Jacob Fowler.

The panel also weighs in on blue-liner David Reinbacher, who was returned to the Laval Rocket on Wednesday, and whether defenceman Luke Mittelstadt might be called up from the AHL’s Laval Rocket sooner rather than later after posting 4-9-13 totals in six games.

Also, is it time for the Canadiens to admit they made a mistake acquiring Kirby Dach from the Chicago Blackhawks four years ago and move on from him once Ivan Demidov recovers from his foot injury?

We will have three bonus episodes of the Hockey Inside/Out Show coming up over the next few days, so look for those.
