HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Rainbow Wahine soccer team is riding a five-match win streak as it prepares to return home this weekend.
UH has not lost in nearly a month and is coming off back-to-back shutout wins at San Jose State and UC Davis.
Those performances helped goalkeeper Kennedy Justin earn defensive player of the week honors.
The junior now has seven shutouts this season, second-most in the conference.
Her 14 career shutouts are also already second-most in program history.
“Every line from our forwards to our midfield has just been really collective,” associate head coach Kaula Rowe said. “Not only that, it’s been organized and disciplined.”
Rowe said the team’s ability to bounce back and post two clean sheets on the road showed how well the group has executed defensively.
UH will host Grand Canyon on Saturday in the teams’ first meeting in Hawaiʻi in eight years.
Coverage on K5 begins at 3 p.m.
