“Actually, I think me and Conor McGregor may lock up again. Yeah, absolutely,” Mayweather said on the PBD Podcast, MMA Fighting reported.
Mayweather said he and McGregor are not friends but that he would be willing to do business. “I don’t live with Conor McGregor, he’s not my friend. I don’t have to see him,” he said. “It’s just when it’s time for us to do business and lock up, let’s do it.”
No rematch has been scheduled or formally proposed.
Looking Back at 2017
Mayweather stopped McGregor by 10th-round technical knockout in August 2017 in Las Vegas, improving to 50-0 in what remains his final professional bout. Mayweather received a disclosed purse of $100 million and McGregor $30 million, though Mayweather has said he earned about $300 million from the event.
On the podcast, Mayweather said the fight raised McGregor’s profile. “As soon as Conor McGregor faced Floyd Mayweather, he was big as life,” he said.
Mayweather, 49, has since fought only exhibitions. His planned rematch with Manny Pacquiao, which had been set for Sept. 19, was postponed indefinitely in June.

McGregor Recovering From Knee Surgery
McGregor, 38, is recovering from ACL reconstruction surgery after injuring his knee in his UFC comeback against Max Holloway at UFC 329 in July. The bout, his first since 2021, was stopped after 69 seconds.
Mayweather suggested on the podcast that McGregor had broken his foot, but the injury was to his knee. McGregor has one fight left on his UFC contract and has said he hopes to return in 2027.
