Two women are facing charges after Winnipeg police say they seized drugs and weapons on Wednesday as part of an investigation into drug trafficking and other criminal activity.

The Winnipeg Police Service says officers identified a home on King Edward Street linked to two suspects and “believed to be connected to illicit activity.”

The two suspects were arrested on Portage Avenue around 7 p.m., and police say they seized 70 grams of methamphetamine, 3 grams of fentanyl, a vial of GHB, two cell phones and $355 cash.

Authorities say a search of the home led to the seizure of a 12-guage shotgun with obliterated serial number, shotgun shells, a crossbow and 21 grams of psilocybin.

Two women – aged 36 and 43 – are facing numerous firearms, weapons, drug trafficking and proceeds of crime-related charges.
