In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Evelyn Rubenstein JCC hosted a Box Out Breast Cancer class Sunday, Oct. 18.
The special boxing circuit class was led by instructor Dena Magelssen, a two-time breast cancer survivor, whose strength and resilience story inspired others as much as the workout did.
Ten women attended, with a portion of their registration going to Sharsheret, a Jewish not-for-profit organization, which provides personalized support, lifesaving education, financial assistance and genetic counseling to empower those faced with or at increased genetic risk of breast cancer and ovarian cancer.
