You need a fix for watching the pros now that road racing is over? Well good news fam, there are two races this weekend and both are being broadcast on FloBikes.com, too. Depending on where you live, you may even be riding the trainer too–and watching ‘cross can make the time fly.

HG Cross Heerde

First up, cyclocross heads to Heerde, Netherlands, on Saturday for the HG Cross. Joris Nieuwenhuis will be back–and so too will former world champ Fem van Empel. The Dutch ace has returned to racing after a shock retirement in December 2025. She’s got a new home with FDJ United – SUEZ, after her tenure with Visma-Lease a Bike.

The course at Heerderstrand mixes beach sand with grass, forest trails and technical sections around a lake. It might be a bit messy this year though. There’s been some recent rain making parts of the circuit a bit sloppier.

The beach section is also wider than last year, giving riders more room to race along the water’s edge. Elite women race first, followed by the elite men.

There’s also Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado, Aniek van Alphen, Manon Bakker, Inge van der Heijden and Leonie Bentveld headlining the women’s race. For the men, you’ve got Nieuwenhuis, Niels Vandeputte, Michael Vanthourenhout, Felipe Orts and Laurens Sweeck all lining up for the Saturday battle.

Super Prestige opener

There’s no rest day for the ‘crossers on Sunday, either. Vanthourenhout arrives at Overijse with two October dubs and a title to defend as the Telenet Superprestige begins. Nieuwenhuis has also made a strong start to his season, and the same goes for Vandeputte and It’s a tough corse–steep climbs and some sketchy technical sections means you have to be on your A game.
The women will have Lucinda Brand, Alvarado, Amandine Fouquenet, Inge van der Heijden and van Alphen headlining the women’s start list for Sunday.

Saturday’s Flobikes coverage begins at 7:40 a.m. EDT with the elite women first, with a brief pause, then the elite men line up.

Sunday’s race in Belgium is also on Flobikes, beginning a bit later, at 8:35 a.m EDT. Canadian Cycling Magazine will have reports for both events shortly after the finish.
