Three new fire engines with larger pumps, more water capacity and improved systems have been added to the Caledon Fire and Emergency Services fleet.
The trio of new trucks will be assigned to CFES stations in Mono Mills, Alton and Valleywood to strengthen Caledon’s fire and emergency response capabilities.
“These new trucks are important improvements to firefighter safety, operational capabilities and environmental performance, helping us continue to deliver reliable fire and emergency services to Caledon residents,” says CFES Fire Chief Dave Pelayo.
The new vehicles include improved braking and electrical systems, rollover protection with airbags, along with larger fire pumps and increased onboard water capacity and occupant seating.
“Maintaining safe, reliable and effective emergency services is essential as Caledon continues to grow,” said Judith D’Souza Soares, Commissioner of Community Services, Town of Caledon. “These investments support our commitment to service excellence and ensure fire services continue to evolve alongside the needs of our community.”
Earlier this year, the town opened the more than $3.5 million Fire Station 310 which employs 20 full-time firefighters and features three bays for different types of emergency vehicles. The town also transferred $612,500 in the fire capital budget in 2025 to its fire training facility project.
“More firefighters in this area means crews can respond to emergencies faster and handle more calls at the same time,” the town said of the new station.
There are a total of 10 fire stations in Caledon, with each station serving an 8 km to 14 km area “to make sure residents receive a timely emergency response,” the town says.
South of Caledon in Brampton, the first of Brampton’s electric fire trucks came into service in 2024 as the city pushes to add more EVs to its fire engine and Brampton Transit fleets.
