Moongazers were treated to the rise of the Hunter’s Moon on 25 and 26 October 2026.
The Hunter’s Moon marked the rise of the October full Moon.
It was also the last full Moon before three supermoons in a row that will appear in November and December 2026 and January 2027.
The Hunter’s Moon is so-called because October historically was the month when hunters would be most active, gathering food and preparing for the cold, dark months ahead.
These days, however, the Hunter’s Moon marks the return of high-rising autumnal full Moons to the night sky, which benefit from earlier sunsets and later sunrises.
Here are some of the best images of the Hunter’s Moon we received from readers across the world.
