The 2026 downhill season may just be wrapping up, in fact there’s still Triple Crown of DH racing this weekend, but Dunbar Summer Series is already looking forward to next summer’s party. That includes, for the first time in a very long time, public downhill racing right on Vancouver’s North Shore.

Canadian champs and a(nother) new venue

Dunbar Summer Series has outlines four stops for 2027. That includes Canadian championships for downhill as well as some BC Cup and Canada Cup stops.

Dunbar Summer Series will start with a double-header of sorts, launching the series with back-to-back stops at Sun Peaks Resort. The first weekend (July 10-11) will be a solid warm up. The second weekend, July 17-18, is Canadian DH championships. That rolls right into Crankworx Whistler and, quite likely, the return of the Canadian Open DH to 1199 the weekend following nationals.

After a short break, Dunbar Summer Series revs back up the weekend after Crankworx Silverstar. Red Mountain Resort, a new venue for 2026, hosts racing again on Aug. 7-8.

Then the new and exciting part. Dunbar Summer Series is scheduled to bring BC Cup Finals to Grouse Mountain Resort on September 11-12, 2027. While Cypress hosted the invite-only Hardline event just a few weeks ago, the Dunbar event would mark the first time in a while that a sanctioned downhill race, open to any racer, landed on Vancouver’s North Shore. Grouse Mountain Resort is relatively new in its return to hosting lift-accessed mountain biking. The resort seems keen to get right to it, though. It will be hosting racing on the trails high above the legendary skinnies and rocks of Fromme.
