Grey 82.5 has appointed Shouvik Roy as its chief executive officer, effective December 1, 2026.

Roy will succeed Kiran Ramamurthy, who is transitioning to the role of CEO at VML India. During his tenure at the helm of Grey 82.5, Kiran Ramamurthy drove transformation and significant business momentum. Between now and December 1, Kiran and Shouvik will work in close partnership to ensure a seamless handover across all client partnerships and operations.

The leadership transition was announced on October 29. Ramamurthy and Roy will work together until December 1 to ensure a smooth handover across client partnerships and agency operations.

Experience

Shouvik Roy brings three decades of experience in brand strategy, marketing transformation, and business building. Previously the President and Head of Ogilvy Delhi, Roy has worked closely with over a dozen of the Top 100 global brands.

As an entrepreneur, he co-founded an acclaimed advertising and design agency where he was instrumental in creating the iconic Paperboat brand and later helped build G.O.A.T Brand Labs. His combination of strategic rigor, multi-category experience, and founder energy makes him uniquely suited to steer Grey 82.5’s agile and ambitious culture.

Commenting on the appointment, VR Rajesh, CEO of The Ogilvy Group India, said Grey 82.5 was entering its next phase following the successful integration of Grey and 82.5.

Rajesh thanked Ramamurthy for his leadership and contribution to the agency, while expressing confidence in Roy’s ability to drive business growth and creative excellence.

“Shouvik pairs deep strategic gravitas with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proven track record of building beloved brands,” Rajesh said, adding that Roy’s vision and energy would be valuable to the agency and its clients.

Grey 82.5 is part of The Ogilvy Group, a portfolio of agency brands that operate independently while drawing on the group’s collective expertise and capabilities where relevant.
