A centennial parade downtown

In its October 23 announcement, the City said the November 11 ceremony will include a special Freedom of the City Parade honouring the Legion’s century of service. Major William Dwight Sharpe Branch 15 also marks its own 100th anniversary in 2026.

The commemoration extends beyond a single ceremony. The City’s Brampton Remembers programme includes veterans’ banners outside City Hall near Ken Whillans Square and on the Garden Square screen, connecting the wider anniversary with people who have served and continue to serve.

That anniversary context is distinct from the Legion centennial mural outside City Hall previously covered by Bramptonist. The November schedule provides the practical dates for residents who want to attend a service.

Wreath deadline and planning ahead

Residents wishing to lay a wreath at the Ken Whillans Square service should consult the order form linked from the City’s schedule. The stated deadline is Friday, November 6, at noon. Review the order form’s requirements before making arrangements.

Check the official Brampton Remembrance services page again before travelling for any programme changes. The published starting times are the service times; this guide does not establish a road-closure plan, reserved seating or an individual arrival time.
