Toronto Argonauts quarterback Chad Kelly confirmed he injured his throwing shoulder in the second half of the team’s 25-22 Eastern Semi-Final loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Saturday, according to TSN’s Matthew Scianitti.
Kelly also confirmed that he felt his shoulder ‘separating’ when he attempted to throw before exiting the contest.
The 32-year-old also appeared on the team’s injury report leading up to the Halloween contest with a knee injury suffered early in the first quarter against the Ottawa Redblacks late in the regular season.
After a scramble ended in a tackle by Redblacks defensive lineman Luigi Vilain, the Argos’ pivot came up hobbling before taking a knee, but was able to walk off under his own power.
Kelly confirmed that he played through the injury in the Eastern Semi-Final and that it would take 4-6 weeks to recover.
