Montreal businesses are warning they can’t afford to absorb a steep tax increase.
Ahead of the city’s 2027 budget, expected this month, they’re calling on the Martinez Ferrada administration to limit non-residential property tax increases to the rate of inflation.
“Costs are going up across the board, and we want to make sure businesses aren’t faced with another bill that keeps growing,” said Sébastien Ridoin, executive director of the Association des Sociétés de développement commercial de Montréal.
