But one former quarterback is taking his best shot at it.

Jake Fromm is now a client advisor at an insurance brokerage in the Atlanta area.

Fromm was a collegiate standout at the University of Georgia.

The Buffalo Bills drafted him in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

He bounced between the active roster and the practice squad in Buffalo for most of his first two seasons.

In December 2021, the New York Giants claimed Fromm off the Bills’ practice squad. Fromm’s only NFL appearance in the regular season came that month for the Giants.

By October 2022, the Washington Commanders had added Fromm to their practice squad.

He bounced up and down in Washington through the end of the 2023 season.

In May 2024, Washington released Fromm and he signed with the Lions.

Fromm spent the 2024 season on Detroit’s practice squad.

The Lions released Fromm on April 23 of this year, and he’s now a free agent.

Fromm, who is 27 years old, hasn’t announced a retirement or anything. He would likely welcome another NFL opportunity if it came.

But for now, he’s working on the next steps of his life, which is a quality way to approach things.
