FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) – From the thrift store to the airport– the lighthouse and Fort Wayne international airport are teaming up to provide free books from their thrift store to the airport for people to take and read during flights or layovers.

This partnership started after the lighthouse realized they had an excess of books that had been donated over time and the airport wanted to begin a book exchange program within the terminals.

“Let’s say you have a long layover or you have a long flight even and you just want a book to read and you don’t want to be on your phone and have all that screen time, then you could just grab a book and take it with you on your flight and enjoy it,” Lighthouse Executive Assistant Vaugn Quinn said.

Vaughn says this is only the first stop for this type of opportunity.

The books can be found near the airline gate areas.

The lighthouse thrift store on Lima Road is still accepting books if you have any to donate.
