While he enjoyed a front-row seat, Blaney anticipated watching the comeback develop from different vantage points.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI bet it\u2019s pretty cool,\u201d Blaney said, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nascar.com\/news-media\/2025\/08\/25\/analysis-we-might-look-back-at-daytona-as-blaneys-turn-toward-a-title\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external nofollow\">reported by NASCAR.com<\/a>. \u201cI have a unique view of it, but I can\u2019t see what\u2019s all around me, so I\u2019m excited to see it from a bird\u2019s-eye view.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 2023 Cup Series titleholder downplayed his achievement, citing \u201ccircumstantial stuff (that) just kind of worked.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Circumstantial or not, Blaney\u2019s comeback boosted Alex Bowman, who claimed the 16th playoff seed. The Hendrick Motorsports driver offered to repay Blaney with \u201cseven million beers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Blaney negotiated down, accepting \u201cfive million.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I Was Fired Up\u2019: Ryan Blaney<\/p>\n<p>Known as a superspeedway ace, Ryan Blaney visited Victory Lane at Atlanta, Daytona and Darlington, but during his past six outings at tracks at least one mile in length, he placed P37 or worse three times.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was fired up, man,\u201d Blaney said Saturday. \u201cWhenever you win at these speedways, it pumps you up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An afterthought for much of the regular season, will Saturday\u2019s win at Daytona fuel Blaney\u2019s bid for a second circuit championship in three seasons?<\/p>\n<p>He attempted to stay humble entering next weekend\u2019s playoff-opening outing at Darlington Raceway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of things go into it,\u201d Blaney said. \u201cI can\u2019t do it by myself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Driver Derek Kraus Takes Over No. 44 Chevrolet\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With the Cup Series\u2019 16-team playoffs opening with Saturday night\u2019s Cook Out 500, a crown jewel event, part-time pilot Derek Kraus, 23, will command the No. 44 Chevrolet.<\/p>\n<p>Klaus, who placed P32 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May, will make his second Cup appearance this season. Of the 38 entries, Klaus joins Josh Bilicki as the lone two open drivers.<\/p>\n<p>Bilicki will pilot the No. 66 Ford, marking his sixth race with Garage 66 this season.
