\n Ahead of Season 51 of \u201cSaturday Night Live<\/a>,\u201d another cast member has announced his departure.\n <\/p>\n \n Emil Wakim revealed on Wednesday via Instagram<\/a> that he will not be returning to the NBC sketch comedy show after the summer break, writing, \u201cit was a gut punch of a call to get but I\u2019m so grateful for my time there.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n Adding a note of levity, he went on to say the he got the news while celebrating a friend\u2019s birthday at a Six Flags amusement park and \u201cwent on a really emotional walk through Bugs Bunny park and stared out across Daffy Duck lake thinking about life.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cEvery time I scanned into the (\u2018SNL\u2019) building I would think how insane it is to get to work there,\u201d Wakim added, alongside a carousel of photos documenting his time at Studio 8H at 30 Rock in New York City. \u201cIt was the most terrifying, thrilling, and rewarding experience of my life and I will miss it dearly and all the brilliant people that work there that made it feel like a home.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n Wakim was on the show for one season.\n <\/p>\n \n CNN has reached out to \u201cSNL\u201d representatives for comment.\n <\/p>\n \n The news comes days after Wakim\u2019s fellow cast member Devon Walker, who was with the show three seasons, shared he also wouldn\u2019t be returning for Season 51.\n <\/p>\n \n Walker likened his time on the show to a \u201clittle marriage,\u201d saying, \u201c\u201cMe and the show did three years together, and sometimes it was really cool. Sometimes it was toxic as hell.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n At the end of his post on Wednesday, Wakim thanked \u201cSNL\u201d creator and overseer Lorne Michaels \u201cfor taking a chance on me and changing my life.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cI was so lucky to bring some of myself in there and say things i believed in and i\u2019m excited for whatever chapter comes next,\u201d he concluded. \u201cHere\u2019s to making more art without compromise.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cSNL\u201d Season 51 will premiere on October 4, according to NBC<\/a>.\n <\/p>\n ![\"Emil](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/nup-206009-00029.JPG\")
