Swiss qualifier Jerome Kym won against American Brandon Nakashima, the No 30 seed, 4-6, 7-6 (2), 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (8) to move into the third round of the US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Kym, ranked No 175, will play the winner of the match between South African qualifier Lloyd Harris and American Taylor Fritz, the No 4 seed, next.<\/p>\n

In the previous round of the US Open, the 22-year-old Swiss edged out American Ethan Quinn (6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (5)). Nakashima, ranked No 31, defeated Dutch qualifier Jesper De Jong (6-2, 6-7 (5), 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7)).<\/p>\n
