\n\tDespite being a prolific actor and expert in his craft, two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington<\/a> said he\u2019s over cinema.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a recent interview with GQ paired with Highest 2 Lowest<\/a> filmmaker Spike Lee<\/a> and co-star A$AP Rocky<\/a> (n\u00e9e Rakim Mayers), Washington joked he\u2019s \u201ctired\u201d of movies \u2014 likely because he has made dozens. The topic came up as A$AP Rocky was discussing his favorite double dolly shots emblematic of Lee\u2019s directorial technique. <\/p>\n

\n\tWhile he listed Malcolm X and Crooklyn, when asking Washington of his favorites, the latter responded: \u201cI don\u2019t watch movies, man. I really don\u2019t,\u201d prompting laughter from Lee and Mayers. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Gladiator II star continued, \u201cI\u2019m just being honest with you! I don\u2019t watch movies, man! I don\u2019t go to the movies. I don\u2019t watch movies,\u201d having added earlier that he doesn\u2019t rewatch his own features as he doesn\u2019t feel the need to revisit the past.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIs it because you make \u2019em?\u201d A$AP Rocky asked.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cProbably. You know, I\u2019m tired of movies.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen Lee questioned how many credits Washington had racked up, the Othello actor responded: \u201cToo many. I think 50!\u201d (Indeed, the actor\u2019s IMDb boasts multiple entries over that figure.)<\/p>\n

\n\tWashington\u2019s signature blunt declaration comes after his recent comments about being \u201cnot that interested\u201d in winning more Academy Awards after his triumphs for 2002\u2019s Training Day and 1990\u2019s Glory.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve been at this a long time, and there\u2019s times when I\u2019ve won, shouldn\u2019t have won, didn\u2019t win, should have won,\u201d he said earlier this month<\/a>. \u201cMan gives the award, God gives the award. I\u2019m not that interested in Oscars. People say, \u2018Well, where do you keep it?\u2019 I say, \u2018Next to the other one.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHighest 2 Lowest debuted in select theaters Aug. 15 and will soon be available to stream on Apple TV+ beginning Sept. 5. <\/p>\n
