Kiwi F1 driver Liam Lawson has said he is not sure if he believes in \u201cthat momentum thing\u201d, as the racing series makes its return after the mid-season break. <\/p>\n

The Racing Bulls driver is due to take to the track at this weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix at the Circuit Zandvoort, just west of Amsterdam. <\/p>\n

Lawson returns to the cockpit of his No. 30 VCARB 02 following a string of good races \u2013 finishing eighth in Hungary<\/a> and Belgium<\/a>, and a career best sixth in Austria. <\/p>\n

This weekend\u2019s race marked a return to where his F1 career started back in 2023<\/a>. Lawson turned heads with an impressive performance, rising from 20th to 13th in the heavy rain that day.<\/p>\n

Speaking to media ahead of the first practice session this evening, Lawson said it was \u201cgood to be back\u201d. <\/p>\n

He said he was \u201cexcited\u201d for some of the tracks coming up for the rest of this season. <\/p>\n

Lawson was asked if the momentum he carried from the last few races had him hopeful for a good run in the Netherlands. <\/p>\n

Lawson said he wasn\u2019t sure if momentum existed, and said he was focused on simply getting the best out of his car.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheoretically, it\u2019s great, obviously, to have a string of good races, but at the same time, F1 is extremely close at the moment. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know if I believe too much in that momentum thing, because each weekend we have to start again, and it’s new tracks with very different dynamics and characteristics, and we\u2019re trying to almost start from scratch. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut in a way you do and try and put ourselves in a position where we\u2019re quick in qualifying, and on these types of circuits where it\u2019s hard to overtake, that\u2019s the main objective for the weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lawson currently sits 15th in the drivers\u2019 standings with 22 points, just two points off his teammate Isack Hadjar in 13th. He’s third out of six rookies. <\/p>\n

Racing Bulls will be hoping for a good result from both drivers this weekend, having slipped to eighth behind Sauber following Nico H\u00fclkenberg\u2019s shock podium at the British Grand Prix. <\/p>\n
