UFC<\/a> czar Dana White<\/a> has promised a fight on the White House lawn for Fourth of July 2026<\/a> \u2014 America’s 250th birthday\u2014 for months. After a meeting with President Donald Trump<\/a> late on Thursday night, he appears have taken a major step.<\/p>\n

“It was a great day. I’m about to take off here from Washington, D.C,” he said in a video posted to social media. “The White House fight is on. I will have more details on that in the next couple of weeks. We got it done today.”<\/p>\n

The names on the card are to be determined. White has spoken effusively of Conor McGregor and having him for the big occasion while pouring cold water on Trump-sychophant Jon Jones’s chances of fighting<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had the meeting at the White House,\u201d White added. \u201cIt could not have gone better. The White House fight is on. The White House fight is on. I will have more details on that in the next couple of weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking after UFC 319, White admitted that he doesn’t “trust” Jones and that he doesn’t talk to him either. “I haven\u2019t talked to him at all,” the UFC chief said. “If I had to make odds, it\u2019s a billion-to-one that I put Jon Jones on the White House card.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jones, who did Trump’s signature ‘YMCA’ dance for the President last fall, responded to White’s prediction on X. “Despite the odds, I\u2019m still training and optimistic about the possibility of being part of the White House event.” he wrote.<\/p>\n

“At the end of the day, Dana is the boss and it\u2019s his call whether I compete that night or not. I do know Dana was really excited about the fight, and the door hasn\u2019t been completely closed. That\u2019s all a guy like me really needs.”<\/p>\n

At the same press conference, White also addressed McGregor’s chances. \u201cI trust Conor,\u201d he said. “Conor McGregor has never, ever \u2014 unless he is seriously injured \u2014 this guy has always delivered. Jon, I\u2019m a little more skeptical about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking at a BKFC press conference in July, the Irishman seemed to indicate that he was poised to head to DC next July.\u201cIt’s looking like I’m heading to the Oval Office again, so that’s where I’m heading next,” he said.<\/p>\n
