{"id":105835,"date":"2025-08-29T16:56:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-29T16:56:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/105835\/"},"modified":"2025-08-29T16:56:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T16:56:10","slug":"apostolos-tsitsipas-fires-back-at-goran-ivanisevics-comments-about-stefanos-tsitsipas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/105835\/","title":{"rendered":"Apostolos Tsitsipas fires back at Goran Ivanisevic&#8217;s comments about Stefanos Tsitsipas"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Stefanos Tsitsipas\u2019 first Grand Slam campaign with his father back in his coaching box did not go the way he would have hoped. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/daniel-altmaier-gives-his-verdict-on-stefanos-tsitsipas-conduct-after-confrontation-at-the-net-following-us-open-clash\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tsitsipas crashed out in the second round<\/a> of the US Open to Daniel Altmaier, in a match that concluded with the Greek\u2019s frustrations boiling over.<\/p>\n<p>His defeat comes just a month after the 27-year-old parted ways with former coach <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/Goran-Ivanisevic\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Goran Ivanisevic<\/a>, who blasted the star\u2019s work ethic during their time working together.<\/p>\n<p>Ivanisevic stated after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/shocked-goran-ivanisevic-has-stinging-criticism-of-stefanos-tsitsipas-ive-never-seen-such-an-underprepared-player\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tsitsipas\u2019 Wimbledon exit<\/a> that he had \u2018never seen such an underprepared player\u2019 and if he does not solve some things outside of tennis, he has \u2018no chance\u2019 of returning to the world\u2019s top ten. <\/p>\n<p>After ending the player-coach relationship with the Croatian, the former world number three reunited with his father, Apostolos Tsitsipas, who has since fired back at his predecessor. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"764\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/GettyImages-2232290865-1024x764.jpg\" alt=\"Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece looks on against Alexandre Muller of France during their Men's Singles First Round match on Day Three of the 2025 US Open at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.\" class=\"wp-image-124539\" \/>Photo by Elsa\/Getty ImagesGoran Ivanisevic criticised by Apostolos Tsitsipas for his comments<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.claytenis.com\/interviews\/i-didnt-like-that-goran-expressed-his-opinions-publicly-interview-with-apostolos-tsitsipas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Clay<\/a>\u2018, Apostolos Tsitsipas said of Ivanisevic\u2019s comments: \u201cI didn\u2019t like that he expressed his opinions publicly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProbably Goran saw something he didn\u2019t like. He should have identified it at the beginning of their professional relationship with Stefanos and discussed it personally with Stefanos and his team and tell him what he wants from him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGoran is a professional, I\u2019m sure he has his own ideas, how to make things working, but definitely he should have done it personally with Stefanos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s interesting for the public to know about all these things, but the most important [thing] for the people is to see Stefanos playing good tennis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the responsible about that are the members of his team. We are teachers. Coaches must create the right environment for the player to develop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/GettyImages-2148643005-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters - Day Eight\" \/>Photo by Jean Catuffe\/Getty ImagesApostolos Tsitsipas says \u2018the sky is the limit\u2019 for Stefanos Tsitsipas<\/p>\n<p>When asked what his son\u2019s ceiling is in professional tennis, Tsitsipas replied: \u201cThe sky is the limit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery player have to dream big and have high goals, but also be careful not to live too much in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey need to stay present, execute, and keep their goals in mind while being fully involved in daily work.<\/p>\n<p>On his physicality, he said: It\u2019s good. I\u2019m sure It can always be better, but you can\u2019t measure these things exactly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlayers have peaks, then they go a bit down. It\u2019s not always flat.
